Honorary Patron - Gordon Ramsay OBE

Michelin and BAFTA award winning international chef, Gordon Ramsay agreed to be our first ever Honorary Patron in 2003 after a chance meeting with our Chairperson, Dr Margo Whiteford at the start of the Great North Run!

Over the years he, and Tana Ramsay, have then frequently taken time out from their busy global schedules to launch Appeals, visit our families and fundraise for us. Watch our film to find out more...

GReat Donate 2024

From the 1st November through to the end of December 2024, a £1 voluntary donation to SBH Scotland will be added to each bill at Gordon Ramsay’s Restaurants in Edinburgh. Since 2022 this initiative has brought in over £40,000 for our charity and we are grateful to everyone who has supported.

The funds raised will help SBH Scotland be there for children, young people, adults and carers across Scotland who are affected by the lifelong, complex disabilities of spina bifida and hydrocephalus. One of those families who have had support is SBH Scotland Ambassador, Meggan Dawson-Farrell and her mum, Kirstie Dawson.

Meggan said, “SBH Scotland have been a big part of our lives since I was born but it was their sports camp, which I attended as a teenager, that had the biggest impact on me. For the first time I realised that my disability didn’t define me, I met other kids going through the same issues as me and I found a love for sport, which, I’d always been excluded from at school because of my wheelchair.

I’m very grateful to Gordon Ramsay Restaurants and their customers for running this campaign again. Your donations mean hundreds of children can find connections, make friends and be empowered to be who they want to be.”   

Gordon’s continued commitment is incredibly important to SBH Scotland and we are very grateful to him and all the staff at Gordon Ramsay Restaurants for all that they do.
